On Saturday 30th September the band travelled to Belfast to play at an "Ulster Day Extravaganza" hosted by the Millar Memorial Flute Band in the Donegal Pass community centre.
The programme included a variety of melody flute, blood and thunder and accordion bands, with us and the NI Corps of Drums the only concert flute band in attendance.
With this being our first concert since completing the recording of our first CD we played a selection of pieces which will be featured on the CD. Our set comprised a variety of tunes including marches such as Steadfast and True and a medley of Killaloe and Regimental along with some concert favourites such as Spanish Eyes, Swinging Safari, Rhinestone Cowboy and Highland Cathedral. We played three new pieces from the CD for the first time: The Gael, Gabriel's Oboe and Trafalgar. All of which were very well received by the audience.
Videos of all our pieces are available in the Multimedia section of the website.
We would like to thank the Millar Memorial Flute Band for inviting us to take part in their Cultural Day and for their hospitality which made it a very enjoyable day for us.
