Churchill Flute Band

Charity Concert in Antrim 24/10/2009

On Saturday 24th October 2009, the Churchill Flute band had the pleasure to perform a concert for two very worthwhile causes, Action Cancer and Chest, Heart and Stroke. The event was held in the Royal British Legion in the town, and was well supported.

Organised by the neices of a long standing member of the Churchill, Jim Brown, the band were delighted at being given the opportunity to help on such an important night. The evening was opened by Blazing Bellows, very talented accordian musicians and all members of Dunloy Accordian Band. The Churchill then played a wide range of music, from Films and Musicals, to the best of Military Marches. Even a small Folk section. The evening was rounded off with dancing to Maiden City Beat.

The hospitality shown towards the Band was greatly appreciated, and the Officers and Members of the Churchill Flute Band would like to extend their thanks to all those involved in the nights planning. We hope it was a successful event for both charities involved.
