Churchill Flute Band

Omagh Protestant Boys Annual Parade

On Friday Evening 4th September 2009 the band met up in Omagh by the Bus depot having travelled in cars. At 20:45 the parade moved off around the town led by the William King Memorial Flute Band. Not for the first time this year we ended up immediately behind them, moving off second (again not for the first time in 2009!!) They must be starting to think we're following them about!

The enthusiastic crowds in the centre of the town were brilliant cheering each band and making everyone feel very welcome. It was great to see so many Melody bands at this parade and all playing to very high standards. Omagh themselves gave the gathered crowds a great Medley of 'We Will Rock You / James Bond / Eye Of The Tiger', which went down a storm.

The Evening ended with a Massed Band made up of most the Melody Bands taking part in the parade, Comprising of Members of Omagh Protestant Boys, Lisburn Young Defenders, Sir George White Memorial, Pride Of The Raven, Ballymacarett Defenders, Shankill Road Defenders, Pride Of Ballinran, Ourselves (Churchill), Skeogh and Millar Memorial it was a real sight to see and the sound wasn't too bad either!!

An extremely well run and much deserved night for the Lads and Lasses from Omagh Protestant Boys.
