On Saturday 28th February, the band travelled to Lisburn's Island Civic Centre, to compete in the Own Choice Contest. This years pieces were the march Punchinello by Rimmer, and Overture, L J Ferdinand Herold's Zampa.

Other Bands in the Grade 2 section were, Ballymena Young Conquerors and Cahard. We played well, under the direction of Chris Wright, finishing with 93 points in second place to Ballymena who achieved 95 points.

Our Percussion section also were awarded the Percussion prize. While Conductor and Interpretation prizes both went to Ballymena.
