It is with great sadness that we learnt today, 9th Septmber, of the passing of our long serving member and dear friend, Mr Drew Porter.

Drew was not only one of our longest serving members but a true gentleman and a great friend to all who knew him. He was a naturally gifted musician and led us to success many times as our conductor. But perhaps more importantly he brightened up the lives of all who knew him, his humour and laughter will be missed by many.

Drew will be sorely missed by not only the Churchill, but the many other organisations he touched, not least the William King Memorial Flute Band and the Walker Club of the Apprentice Boys of Derry.

The Officers and Members of the Churchill would like to extend our condolences to the entire Porter family and to all those who knew and loved Drew Porter.

The funeral of Drew Porter will take place on Sunday at 2pm in St Augustine's Church, Londonderry.

St Augustine's is the small church right on the Walls in front of the Memorial Hall.
